The Gulf Islands is a labyrinth of islands located throughout the inside passage between Vancouver Island (the largest west coast island) and the B.C., Canada mainland. The entire inside passage has over 6,000 islands - most are remote, rugged and uninhabited while some are populated with a varying selection of travel services.

We do it, we live it and we list it online for you because assisting you in preparing for a Gulf Island adventure while exploring our B.C. backyard is what we do best!

The Gulf Islands are separated into three sections; south, central and north Gulf Islands.

The South Gulf Island section includes Salt Spring , Pender , Galiano , Mayne, Saturna, Thetis and Gabriola Islands. The southern islands are the most populated of the islands, best accessed from southern Vancouver Island communities and from the City of Vancouver on the mainland. They are the most populated islands, they offer the most services and are all connected by BC Ferry routes.

The Central Gulf Islands includes Denman and Hornby Islands accessed best from Vancouver Island ... and also Texada and Savary Island which are accessed from the mainland Sunshine Coast communities.
The Northern Gulf Islands includes the kayaking paradise of the Discovery Islands - Quadra and Cortes (Cortez) Islands... and further north, the Village of Sointula on Malcolm Island (Finnish Heritage) and the First Nation community of Alert Bay on Cormorant Island , both located off the northeastern coastline of Vancouver Island. And then there are, also, the 1000's of uninhabited wilderness Islands surrounding the Gulf Islands that can be explored forever.
The populated islands are accessible by recreational boat, water taxi, kayak, floatplane or BC Ferry.

Every year visitors from around the globe come to the Gulf Islands to relax and embark on a British Columbia adventure like sea kayak touring, biking, sailing, marine charter fishing, whale watching, scuba diving, bird watching, hiking, boating, swimming, camping and much more.
