Haig Lake Park

Located on Cortes Island is a recreation lake named Hague Lake. The lake is a popular swimming hole, canoe lake, hiking area and beachcombing destination on the island. Along the shore of Hague Lake are some sandy beaches, hiking trails and great views. Power boats are not allowed on the lake.

Haig Lake is adjacent to another lake named Gunflint Lake. Located along the banks of both lakes are some sightseeing hiking trails called the Kw'as Trails.

The Kw'as Park hiking trails explore through some old growth and second growth forests leading to viewpoints and many points of interest. There are oceanfront trails and forested trails with alder, pine, red cedar and spruce trees.

The hiking trails explore wetland areas and summits. Some of the points of interest to consider visiting when exploring the trails in the park include Swim Rocks, Easter Bluffs, a historic Steam Donkey and some Inca Ruins.
