Land

From Victoria (South Vancouver Island) : Travel north for 111 kilometres on Highway #1 to the community of Nanaimo. From Nanaimo continue traveling on Hwy #1 (or travel the Oceanside Route - Inland Highway) north for approximately 90 kilometres to the Buckley Bay BC Ferry Terminal located south of the community of Courtenay. From Buckley Bay it takes two ferry crossings to reach Hornby Island. First a BC Ferry connects travelers to Denman Island and from Denman Island travelers connect to Hornby Island.

From Port Hardy (North Vancouver Island) : Travel south for 238 kilometres on Highway #19A to the community of Campbell River. From Campbell River continue traveling on Hwy #19 (or travel the Oceanside Route - Inland Highway) south for 50 kilometres to the community of Courtenay. From Courtenay continue south 17 kilometres to the BC Ferry Terminal in Buckley Bay. From Buckley Bay it takes two short ferry crossings to reach Hornby Island. First a BC Ferry connects travelers to Denman Island and from Denman Island travelers connect to Hornby Island.

Air

Comox Valley, located north of the BC Ferry Terminal in Buckley Bay, has an airport which receives daily flights from Vancouver International Airport. Canadian airlines, charter planes and private planes all operate from the airport. The airport is located off of Military Row on Knight Road near the Comox Air Force Base.

Hornby Island can also be accessed by air via floatplane charters who service the island.

Oceans

The Buckley Bay BC Ferry Terminal located south of Courtenay in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island connects travelers to Denman and Hornby Islands.

Also there is a marina on Hornby Island called Ford's Cove which services recreational boats and sailboats arriving to the island for some R&R.
